How are you settling into your new community of apartments in Katy? We want to help our residents feel comfortable in their new apartments, so we’ve decided to write a blog post about it! There are tons of different ways to style your new apartment, and we’re not going to tell you whether you should go with a bohemian look, a minimalist look or a southwest theme to match your location. Instead, we’ll be telling you about a few style rules that should help guide your apartment decorating, no matter what kind of style you end up choosing.
The thing about living in an apartment is that your decor should be both functional and stylish. You obviously want to make your place look good, but should also be focusing on maximizing both your available floor plan square footage and your storage space. If you can do that, you’ll be more than comfortable in your apartment.
Without further delay, let’s get right to the list of decor tips, shall we? When you’re done reading through this week’s blog, we encourage you to share the link to this page with your friends and neighbors at your favorite community of apartments in 77450.
Keep it bright
A lot of people move into a new apartment and immediately start turning into a cozy cave. While dark, cozy spaces can be comfortable, they also appear smaller than they actually are. We recommend going with light, bright furniture and decor instead. Not only will your place seem a bit more inviting, but it’ll seem more spacious because of the bright colors and light that you let into the room.
Add reflective surfaces
We already mentioned that it’s important to let natural light in your place, but it’s equally important to make sure that natural light gets to the darker corners of your place. You can make this happen by adding reflective surfaces like mirrors and metallics. Never say no to a mirror, and add metallic bowls and decor pieces to your coffee tables and walls. All that you’ll have to do is sit back and watch as natural light fills your space!
Always go with the tall, narrow option
As we said before, living in an apartment means placing a premium on floor space. When buying shelves, dressers, entertainment centers and other large pieces, try to choose tall and narrow pieces instead of short, wide pieces. The narrow pieces take up less floor space, but if they’re tall enough, they’ll still provide you with plenty of surface area and storage space. Plus, tall pieces draw people’s eyes upwards, which will make your space seem bigger.
