Remember way back in January when you made a New Year's resolution to live healthier? If you’re like a lot of residents of our apartments in Katy, you started going down to the fitness center more often, cooking meals for yourself every night, and counting your calories or cutting back on carbs.
Maybe you were successful for awhile and stuck to your resolution until the summer came around and you couldn’t resist the happy hours and the beach days. Maybe you didn’t stick to for as long as you would’ve liked, and fell back into less-than-healthy habits before the end of January. If you’re trying to get back to your healthy ways now that fall has arrived in Texas, we think we can help with that.
In this week’s blog post, we’ll be sharing some tips that should help you live healthier every day. Eat more cauliflower
You know what’s healthier than rice but tastes just as good? Cauliflower. You know what has the same consistency as mashed potatoes but half the calories? Mashed cauliflower. You can use cauliflower to replace carbs in your life, and we doubt you’ll notice anything different besides the fact that you feel healthier.
Workout in the morning
We know this is going to be difficult. We also know that working out in the morning kicks your metabolism into overdrive for the rest of the day. You’ll burn more calories, you’ll have more energy, and you’ll feel like you accomplished something before you even start your day. Give it a shot before you knock it, residents!
Invest in a fancy water bottle
This last bit of advice is the easiest to follow. If you want to drink more water every day, splurge on a fancy water bottle. Go ahead, let yourself buy the nicest one you see in the department store. You’ll be a lot more likely to actually use the water bottle and keep it full if you spent a lot of money on it.
